Could you make a vintage electric guitar replica with a router bench?
I am thinking this would be totally possible. Now lets get onto why I started thinking about this. I visited the Vintage Electric Guitar blog and noticed a really pretty wooden guitar on the cover of the book he recommends. This got me to thinking so I searched for Vintage Electric Guitar plans and found only installment plans to buy Vintage electric guitars. So instead I searched for electric guitar plans and found a number of sites offering these.
I think in the next few months I will build a Vintage Guitar replica from plans, I will do this on tape so you can see how effective a router bench really is. We are going to have to find a nice chunk of hardwood, I think African Rosewood will be a good base. I know we are going to have to laminate up a nice block before we get started.
So far I have traced plans for the following Vintage Electric guitars. Maybe a Vintage Electric guitar buff can advise me which would be the best one to choose.

I visited the vintage electric guitar blog mentioned in this post but was surprised to see at the top of the page a picture of a well dressed man holding what can only be described as a modern acoustic guitar. How can this be? If you tried to make an acoustic guitar body with a router bench I think you would definitely have your work cut out.

Andy, As I know very little about guitars I would probably agree with you. I however believe that anything is possible but will reserve judgement till I have an actual set of plans in my hands. I am of the opinion that this would not be a beginners project.
